Ballroom, Latin, Club Dances and Dance Fitness
Valerie discovered her passion for partner dancing in 2002. She began with the club (non-syllabus) dances like West Coast Swing, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Hustle and Nightclub 2-Step. From there, she dove into Smooth Ballroom (Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango and Viennese Waltz). In 2003 she began training in Latin dances, such as Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Jive, Bolero, Swing and Paso Doble. She began competing and teaching in 2005, and currently teaches in San Diego, Chula Vista and Eastlake.
In the summer of 2005, Valerie met an Italian chemist named Fabio at Milongas (Argentine Tango dance parties), and sparks flew. The passion of the Tango was simply too much to resist, so they surrendered to it completely - they fell in love and were married in 2008, the same year they joined the Tango Alma Dance Ensemble. Today, they teach and perform Argentine Tango together, and it is clear to see that their passion for dance - and for each other - inspires everything they do
